I have tried to include mostly information sites here, rather than personal homepages, poetry etc.

Please be aware that I do not necessarily agree with everything on these websites. Please also be aware that they may contain triggering material.

Self Harm: The short-term physical and psychological management and secondary prevention of self-harm in primary and secondary care by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (pdf) (UK)

Secret Shame excellent website with lots of advice and information about self harm. This is a long-established website you will see quoted and referenced in lots of other places.

Understanding Self Harm from MIND (UK)

Self Harm from the NHS website (UK)

Self-injury Support Information from the Bristol Crisis Service for Women (UK)

Self Injury.net Information and support for self injurers. Includes a forum which I used to be a regular in.

Recover Your Life Information and a huge forum. Not pro-SI. I remember when this used to be “Ruin your life”!

LifeSIGNS/FirstSigns user-led voluntary organisation aiming to raise awareness of self injury (UK)

Self Harm from Psychology Today

The National Self Harm Network I didn’t like their website, but I included them because they are apparently a national organisation for sufferers and professionals.

Psyke: Self Injury Information and Support includes many personal accounts

International Society for the Study of Self Injury

The Royal College of Psychiatrists has an information page about self injury.
